I would like to thank God for all the he has done for me. There has been many times that I have turned my back on him and believed that I could do it myself. He has still stood by me and blessed me throughout the years and without him nothing would be possible.

Proud to be an exhibiting member of the ElectronicCottage Online Arts & Crafts Gallery!

I would like to give a special thanks to Wayne Hewell, Jeff Standridge, and Michael Purdue. I learned everything I know about pottery from these guys. I also have to thank Wilford Dean. He let me borrow a wheel and some other tools and gave me the job that helped me to start making pottery full time. If it were not for these guys I would not be able to mess with pottery everyday.

I would also like to thank my family and my beautiful  girlfriend Kayla (she helps me with the website and a million other things) for the support they have showed me and all the help they have offered.

You can now view some great pottery by Wayne Hewell online at www.waynehewellpottery.com. Wayne, or "Sweetboy" as he is known around Gillsville, is a master potter with over 30 years of turning under his belt. I have learned nearly all I know about working clay from Wayne and he is one of the best potters around. He also burns all his pottery in his wood kiln, which is very rare nowadays. If you ever get a chance I would highly recommend taking a trip out to Gillsville and watching Wayne burn one of his kilns. It is a sight to see and it is always enjoyable to sit around during the five or six hours it takes to burn and shoot the bull.

I would also like to thank all the great potters/artists that have influenced me and gave me the inspiration for the pieces I make.

Visitors are welcome at my shop. I teach at East Hall High School but am usually at my shop sometime during the week. Give me a call to see if I'm there or to set up a time for you to stop by.

Where's my pottery?

Starting in February, I will be offering my own pieces on ebay under the seller name turkeymerck (wow, that'll be hard to remember). Happy bidding to each and everyone one of yuns.

NOT REALLY BOUT POTTERY

Me and Kayla

My secret trout stream. It sure is pretty and I hate to do it, but don't ask me where it's at.

Striper on Lanier. It's a secret spot too so don't even bother.

Here's a fat bass from my ol' farmpond.

Here's some big ol' crappie 'bout a pound and a half a piece. That's my buddy Casey on the left and my little brother Keith on the right.

And here's some pretty good bass we caught. I'm an avid fisherman if you can't tell. If I ain't doin' pottery you can probably find me tossin' out a line somewhere.

It's a little blurry but that don't make the fish any smaller.

Last but not least, I would like to thank all the troops that have served in the past and the present. Especially my little brother, Austin Kori Merck. We love you. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of our troops everyday.
